Hi, I’m Rachel…an actress, writer, wife and mom living in sunny Burbank, California.

Ok, why “DarlingMom”? Do I find myself so incredibly wonderful that I have a cute pet name for myself?  Funny…but, no.  I say “darling mom” tongue in cheek.  It can be taken a couple of different ways:

  1. I am, in fact, the mom of a lovable, kind, dear and darling twelve year old daughter named Ava.
  2. I am actually a little dubiously darling myself.  Darling in a “Oh, bless her heart” kind of way.  If things like spilling soup down your blouse, laughing at inappropriate times, and being prone to frequently speaking first and thinking later are darling then by all means, yes, that’s me!

So, why read my blog?  I’m pretty much like every other mother I know, and after twelve years of motherhood lived in three different metropolitan areas, I know a lot of us.  We all get up, get our kids off to school, and spend our days taking care of business. We work, we clean something, and we run endless errands. Then we feed everyone dinner, get through the bedtime routines of our charges, and eventually drag our weary selves into bed.  In our rare few minutes of stolen “me time”, it’s nice to know we are a part of something bigger; a shared camaraderie between other moms living a parallel life.  We all get through the daily minutia to celebrate the extraordinary in our ordinary lives, don’t we?  (Just for the record, I don’t trust a mom that says otherwise.) We all want to prop our feet up at the end of the day and simply relax. I promise to always speak our collective truths. Come relax with me. Have a glass of wine and join my tribe because we are all Darling Moms in need of a little laughter, love and friendship.

xo,

Rachel
