Beauty

Most who know me, know that beauty products are some of my favorite things and I’m particularly obsessed with skincare.  (Probably because I spent so much time in the 80’s slathering myself with baby oil and iodine and I feel the need to make up for my past sins.)

I was recently at the Clarins counter at Macy’s and was given a very nicely sized sample bottle of their Body Fit lotion.  This lotion claims it “visibly smooths, firms and lifts skin”.  Hmmmmmm.  I had serious doubts, but happily accepted not one, but two samples from the very congenial saleslady and promised to give it a try.

Even though I’ve battled my weight since I was a pre-teen, cellulite has never been much of a problem for me.  *knock on wood* I’m female, so of course I had a small bit on my upper thighs, but nothing that has ever really bothered me.  Because of this, I decided to target a small area so my samples would last longer.

The first time I used it, I lightly slathered it on my thighs and quickly realized there was much more to this innocuous little cream than I had expected! It felt cool and tingly and soaked in quickly without leaving an odd sticky feeling behind.  Ok, not too bad. I tried it again the next day, and the next, and before I knew it, I’d been absentmindedly using it daily for two weeks.

Finally, I decided to examine the results.  Freshly from the shower, I went to my full length mirror, lifted my towel and searched for the offending cellulite.  Guess what? It’s gone! I’m not making this up.  Two weeks of using Clarin’s Body Fit and my cellulite has vanished.  I know, I know, I’m just as incredulous as you…but it’s true.

This product is pricey at $70 for 6.9oz or $105.00 for 13.5oz so I don’t see myself using it indefinitely, but before a beach vacation?  Heck, yeah!
